me and two other guys will be going up for BMX Games and I want to get things sorted now instead of at the last minute. Can anyone here suggest the best place to stay? Cheapest will be best so we'll have more money to spend on other things. Where are the other ground riders staying? Be cool to stay somewhere that has other riders.

I've only really been to Sydney (Homebush) once and that was two years ago so not very clued up with the suburbs surrounding it. Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers! [Image Can Not Be Found]

its a little way away from homebush but aaron told me of a special bus/train pass you buy for like 40 bucks and it lasts a week so thats cool

This place is as cheap as it's gonna get.
The more riders that crash here, the less room there will be for English hippes. (and hot danish chicks)

No, Hungary the country; where at least half of my family comes from (least, I think that's what Dave was talkin bout...)

So, Ali, what happens when you make Dave's hair all purtyful? [Image Can Not Be Found]

i know the nz dudes have 1 spare bed in their room
even if they dont, its cheap at footprints, from what i gather, well be scattered among hippies anyway so you could probly just book for 1

How are you guys planning on securing bikes when you go out on the town?

Chain and padlock to a bunk or something?

i asked them and they have the basement storage area but it's not secure. we'll first try and see if they'll let us keep it in the room. if not then we could just get all our bikes and locks together and make a very big mess of bike and chains all tangled together. hopefully that'll deter someone that's thinking of getting it for 'souvenirs'.

I'd say we should be fairly safe with a few lengths of some reasonably heavy chain and padlocks. Stuff that's too large to easily cut.

yeah, but you have to carry that chain with you to the airport, from the airport to the hotel and so on and so on

i cant see there being an issue with keeping them in the room. Alexs keeps the one we set him up with in his room at the backpackers he was staying at in st kilda

FFS, You're kidding right?!???

There is NO WAY that I am leaving my bike unsecured in a backpackers hostel. For gods sake the bloody travel guides even tell you not to leave valuable stuff in your rooms at them.

You don't take a massive lump of chain with you on the plane. You go to a hardware store when you get there and buy it.
