stripped the thread on my Geisha axle due to doing up the axle bolts to tight all the time, so got a newie from FF.
Chain kept slipping from it so have put on tensioners and switched from the Titanium conversion back to the normal chromo EAS axles and nuts. Once i change the axle in the geisha ill put the Titanium conversion back on with the tensioners and it all should be sweet.

Yesterday....

Picked up my stmartin, built up the front end, and back wheel on.

Oh yeah! Haha just hope 18.1 isn't too small for me

depends on your set up... the higher you run your seat and bars the longer the bike will feel while still being responsive and neat...
may feel a little twitchy at first but should be fine...

Ah yeah, got a new post today too to replace my striped Mongoose post.

Your bike is 18.2" right?
You reckon I have a chance it getting away with putting a set of 175mm cranks on?
I do have minimal rake on my forks, planning on going zero though

Just a toptube length alone doesn't mean anything. The bike can always be adjusted to feel right. I think that your body will absorb a lot of the small changes that people usually wet their pants about. Everything can be adjusted and as a last resort tweaked with different parts. I think that tires and pressure are probably the most important thing.

To be honest... Ibreckon shorter cranks are better but if it's all you got then it might be ok... Just when your pedaling from a-b you feet might hit on the rear peg and the front tyre... During flat it might get in the way and then again it might not... Yeah mine is 18.2 but it feels a lot longer then my garuda because of the geo... If you got the cranks already then just try it before spending more money...
And I'm running 160mm with a set of 150mm waiting...

Short frames are all good... mines 18" and I run the back wheel slammed. Agree with Dighton on short cranks, just keeps things out the way.

I just looked at campbel's 18" classx, it looks like 175mm cranks won't hit...just close.
So I'm just going to use my 175's.

Got some new stmartin pegs too for cheap.

If 175mm is all you've got then there's no debate.

If you can get new cranks though - nothing over 165mm. With that frame 150mm cranks would serve you better.

I can't afford the price he's asking for, plus ti spindle is too fancy for me.

$200 will get me something decent from fuel, but all in good timing.
I'd buy from newcircle, just not a fan of colony aye

What spindle do you have? Profile or Primo style.

I sanded off the rust, gave it a fresh coat of paint with some left over engine enamel I had, put the bike together, new grips, fixed up the punctures, new tire, and actually rode it for the first time in over a year.
