So lets actually talk about flatland! [Image Can Not Be Found]
Lately I've been trying to get these one handed steams to carve just right so I can step the other foot onto the middle of the bars and get them to start spinning.
I so have to work on karl kruisers to halfpackers.... I cant get the swapping hands on the seat down..... AT ALL!!!
...same goes for brakeless whiplashes... I can get one complete one and that's it.... [Image Can Not Be Found]
When I saw Roblibob's post saying he was working on x-footed hikers, I started trying them... and about 4 &1/2 months later I've nearly got them nailed. Fark yeah!!!
So I'm trying to incorporate this into my (Bwds) backpackers by pivotting them into a xfooted hiker..... Hate em'.

almost got hang 5s, i can roll em for a couple of metres, but i cant get comfortable like in backwards ones
and those weird elephant glides but your bikes on the other side of you, driving me insane
one thing ive been thinking of lately, inspired by timguymanbearpig is having a thread like this, but you take a video of what your trying and stick it on youtube or something and dudes could watch and give comments/congratulations

Brakeless whips are a whole 'nuther trick. I finally decided to learn whiplashes a couple months back and just started on them brakeless a couple sessions ago. I pulled 4 in my first session, now i'm on a mission haha.
Keep the progression going!
Ps. Is anyone working on complete combos?

I can do all of these tricks individually but I'm trying to get em as a combo. Boomerang straight into spinning squeakers holdin seat to 180 barflip while going into side squeaks another 180 barflip then a full 360 barflip and then ride out. But it's hard, I reckon I need about 3 months more riding before I'll pull it.

I had my first really good session in a long while today. Its nice to drive home from my spot with a smile on my face.
I could do normal forward steams till the cows came home, but cross handed had me fucked, until today. Like Robin one expained to me before, when you pull something like that, its like a switch is turned on for good, and now its so easy.
I can now also juggle backwards hikers both ways now. Like pull up on the left and down the right, or up on the right and down on the left. Took me a while but im happy with that too.
Aaaannnnnnddd......can now roll a crackpacker for about 5 meters now. Im still fucked trying to get into them, and to pump them (as i am useless with brakes and scuffing). But stepping off straight into it, i dont find the balance point hard.
Almost dialled a few more things, but im on late shifts at work for the next 3 weeks so I got all day to ride now, and hopefully progress.

man...... I have had this idea lately of a trick I haven't seen done before.....
I have seen a couple of variants, but...
It involves being cross footed, carving and no hands.... sic man... [Image Can Not Be Found]
I can nearly get into the gliding part and I can roll the gliding part fairly well (one footed) but placing my other foot down and letting go, is a whole 'nother matter....
I will have to see if I can at least get a pic as soon as I become consistent at rolling it. [Image Can Not Be Found]
...which will probably be ummm.... never [Image Can Not Be Found]

I wore a fairly decent pair of shoes (well one of them) all of the way down to my sock in a single session trying to learn some pivoting on the peg stuff (which is a total bitch).
Now I've got new shoes and I've taken the griptape off. I'll probably be working on pivots for a few weeks more.
At the moment I'm working on Excel... I can't wait to go home. . . Boring boring.

Ha. I made my first link kinda thing today. Its also the gimpiest link ever known to humans. Fork glide, step over into riding backwards (where i usually pedal to the top of the very slight slope in my spot), then step off into a cyclone kinda thign, but in front of the bars, then slip the hips into normal cyclone position, then hop back into a normal footed for glide. I do it forwards, backwards, straight into the cyclone, i love it. Only riding a year and a bit, so im proud, but i also find it humourous how pathetic it is.

[quote="timguyperson":1lj36jti]paul you still only riding backwheel? if so what tricks are you trying?[/quote:1lj36jti]
I'm trying but I often get stuck and go back to front wheel stuff for a week or so. I've actually been playing around with most stock backwheel rolling tricks just to see which ones 'come' to me I guess. It's a hard road. The only back wheel trick that I can actually do consistently well and link up is a dumptruck. I'm playing around with a lot of stuff though. Sometimes I just work on one trick until I've got it but at the moment I'm having more fun just messing around instead of stressing around. That's not to say that I'm not riding hard when I'm out - just that I'm working on a lot of stuff a little bit.
That's what I like about the backwheel tricks. It all feels new to me. First off it felt like I was starting a new hobby. I couldn't really do anything so it all seemed new and exciting. I worked pretty hard on a few things in Sydney for ages and pulled a dumptruck in the way that I wanted to just before I left for Melbourne.
I'll leave dumptrucks alone for a while but I just keep coming back to them. There are so many things that I want to do with them and it just feels so good to do them. Living away from Europe and the flatland 'scene' helps me to see more clearly what I want to do riding wise.
It'll be good to ride with you and the others next month. See you at B2B Tim!

Man, that's interesting to hear. Since i've been over here riding it's given me waaaay more motivation in general. Not that I didn't get any at home, but being able to ride consistently with other people who are equally motivated has been great.
For the record, i'm working on a newish backwheel combo that links a pedaling upside megaspin into a blender (not directly yet). I've got the pieces sorted, just gotta put it back together.
At TGM, sometimes get a chance to do blender stuff with Jason - always fun!
