Really? OK, well I found a seller in the USA, he wants $60 for the frame plus $60 p&h. I am having a hard time because I have been told that the DK Opsis is not released in Australia and I am not buying a bike that I have not ridden before, I would build a bike close to the specs that I used to ride and the EP frame is on the money. It is either that or a Hoffman Strowler frame but building from the frame up seems like a costly and lengthly procedure.

Hello,
Sentimental value seems to be the way, I found a white EP frame and fork with the platform never used for sale from someone in Europe but they wamted $540 AUS for it whereas the Hoffman Strowler frame is only around $200. I used to ride with someone who rode an EP but I never got the chance to ride it.

I've seen a couple come and go on ebay over the last year or so.. One of those things that come up when you're not looking for them I guess.. I'm just about finished building up a strowler as well- I think the difference between them will be like the difference between night and day.. Can't wait! [Image Can Not Be Found]
I'm kinda with riderforlife on this one though dude- go new school for your new ride- straight up. I love my EP but feel I will progress much easier on a more flat specific (not to mention lighter) frame. Good luck in your search man, I might bring out the EP one day for you to check out once I build it back up (it is getting some well earned TLC once the strowler is rockin')
Cheers

[quote="Scottie Blaze":ks2lucph]Did you buy the Strowler 18.75 or 19.75 tt? and what colour?
Do Hoffman still make stems, bars and forks with 990 mounts?[/quote:ks2lucph]
Hoffman basically make cheap crap these days. The only people I know who ride Hoffman stuff are real riders on a budget. I bought a Hoffman sprocket because it was the cheapest one but the bore is way more off centre than usual and is wearing out quickly because it's low grade aluminium. Hoffman isn't the company that it was in the 90's - they produce basically the same generic crap as every other big company. The Strowler is alright - good enough. If I had a little more cash I'd go something a bit nicer like the new S&M though. Plenty of old flavour in that. Best bargain on Flatlandfuel is the DK Transmitter which is USA made - but it's euro bb which kinda sucks. You should maybe go a Colony Sweet Teeth from Newcircle. Shane has those going at a good price. You can get it feeling however you want with different parts.
At Brett says, you just need to get out there. Don't make the mistake that other riders have made and spend a load of dough on old stuff from the 90's. Parts in the 90's were over-built and way too heavy. Nobody out there swears by a 15kg bike now.

What's your budget???
What Paul said I'd pretty much spot on...
A lighter bike means you can ride longer and with
Less injuries due to muscle strain...
Have you met up with the other guys in your area and
Had a go at their bike to see what feels comfortable???
Most parts these days are stronger and lighter due to r&d then
What was around in the 90's...
