let me steer this thread back to it's original topic.
I'm back from my month long holiday to Thailand and Philippines so will be actively following this whole deal up with the X-Air head honcho. He is away at the moment but hope to speak to him as soon as he gets back. Rest assured, I will post it here and the NZ Flatland website for updates.
For the meantime, I need to know how many people can say that they'll be there or even most likely going to be there. Please post here with what your situation is. This is so that I can give somewhat accurate numbers to the organiser, which will make life easier for people. This'll also determine if an Am class will be included or not.
Just so you know, everything that I've mentioned about X-Air still applies until I say otherwise here. No new info on it yet.
Now on another related topic for this, Me and Ali are planning a roadie during X-Air. Plan is to meet up in Auckland then drive down to Wellington. We may even end up checking out a bit of the South Island if enough people are keen and funds are available. I would also like to know who is keen for this.
I am planning a jam (possibly in Wellington) around X-Air time as well so we can have our own little laid back gathering. Complete with bbq, drinks, whatever. Will post more info on this as things progress.
That is all for now.

ok here is what i have now regarding XAir 2006 and having Flatland in it.
first of all, i'd like to apologise for the time it took for another update for it. i've only just managed to speak to the organiser.
there's good and bad news. the bad news is that he said due to financial reasons, flatland may not happen for xair. there are issues with sponsors and money which led to the other events being dropped as well such as aggressive inline and bike trials. as you'd imagine i was pretty gutted to hear this as i was looking forward to it.
i can somewhat understand his reason but i'm just tired of seeing flatland get dropped like that. this leads me to the good news. i have managed to negotiate with him to still support flatland. now i would have to come up with something to propose to them that'll satisfy both his and my side. afterall, flatland doesn't cost a whole lot to be able to run so if i manage to reduce the costs to something that'll be feasible for them then i have his support to have it in X-Air.
this is where you, the riders, come in. i have a few ideas that are running through my head at the moment but i would like to ask for help/suggestions/anything for this. i have basically decided that i'm just not gonna sit here and do nothing bout it but instead i'm gonna make sure something does happen for it. people have already planned for this and i'm not about to disappoint them. the main reason i do this is to help flatland in general progress and letting things like this stand in the way of it is just not an option.
if you think you may be able to offer something to this please either post here or email me your ideas to jdungca@nzflatland.co.nz. i am open to absolutely anything no matter how small you might think it is. talk to the people you know, you're sponsors, etc, or maybe even try and make it down yourself or get someone else to. aussie to nz isn't too much [Image Can Not Be Found] if i can show that i can make flatland work then we might just have a better chance of getting the proper treatment flatland deserves in future years.
again the details are below:
Vodafone X-Air 2006
21st & 22nd January
Wellington Waterfront (Queens Wharf)
if you need more info then just lemme know and i'll be happy to answer any questions that anyone has.
ps. for those going with the roadtrip then it's still on.
