having the events 3 months apart sound ok but we must take remember that we do have to contend with the winter months. no point holding a comp if it will be rainning.

round 1 november

round 2 will always be in january at bmx games time

round 3 march

round 4 may

this is two months apart for each event (aprox)

this leaves 5 months for the winter to do its thing and riders to get with the programme of busting out. by this time we will all miss each other and really want to hang out

hey
I recognized Grant directly! haha
Cool flyer Mitch! congratulation! (man you should do a new background for this website! what do you think guys? a bit of changement)

Is there someone going in Sydney from Melbourne by car?
Would like to have a cool road trip!
Ben let's ride this shit out of your car [Image Can Not Be Found]

Otherwise Paul when is your flight and your return, we could go there together if you don't mind?
___________________________________________
Euhh, i don't really get the second round? ''do this tricks to win'' FREE style for the fun or not? <!-- sLaugh --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="Laugh" title="Laughing" /><!-- sLaugh --> no kidding it will be interesting to see andrew doing all of them in a funcking brakeless style [Image Can Not Be Found]

We could add a fun format like everybody does a funky chicken or hang five or whatever at the same time and the last one win!
Or a weelchair bunnyhop contest [Image Can Not Be Found] Or if someone have some ideas...
Just because I did a contest in Germany once and it was a rolling contest, and it brings loads of fun!

AAh it will be a good week end again!!
nb: Andrew if you put your brakes on again I will come in Sydney with a saw and destroy your bike in 48 pieces [Image Can Not Be Found]

see you
Michael

We could have the Brisbane leg in winter because it will still be warm there. We could have a leg at an indoor venue maybe.

Not sure of the details yet. We fly out on Thursday night and come back on Sunday night though.

Obviously not. The second round is a fun round. We're just making it part of the contest though. I don't like the funky chicken battle it's played out. We've been doing it everytime at the same contests in England for 5 or 6 years.

This is how contests used to be. There were compulsory tricks to aid with the judging - It meant that there was a standard. I agree, it's not FREE style - but neither is a contest...

I just read the comp format again... we only get 1min to do 4 tricks..?? Damn, they will have to be some fast compulsarys, with very little transition time.
I played around with these tricks today... why oh why is a Time Machine easier than a Frontyard..?? lol

The comp/series looks really good!

Has anyone contacted Martin at Global to put all these dates (& round 3) on the Events calendar??

1min 30s Shaun?

Flair time... Maybe they need more flair time. . . Time to sit in position, time to hop - and most importantly - time to give the judges the showman's nod, wink and swagger!

Ok all, Not long now till we be all rollin' in Sydney Town!

Bad news though... The Forecast is Rain for the entire weekend....
Now, being that the location is entirely outdoors, some problems may arise from this.

We are desperately seeking some idea's for underground spots that are big enough to ride this comp at without getting security busted down asap.

Stupid rain... i know its vital for all existance... but geez, just one weekend off couldn't hurt you could it?

I'll update as i find out.

Sorry/Cheers.

Hey, the weather for Saturday's looking better already!

[from bom.gov.au]

Saturday
Mostly fine.
City: Min: 19 Max: 25
West: Min: 17 Max: 27

It has been proven by scientists in white lab coats that 27 degrees Celsius is the optimal ambient temperature for flatland.

I'm so stoked right now..!! I'm flying out tomorrow night, for a 6am arrival on Thursday morning. Going to the physio tomorrow to get my ankle professionally strapped and taped. The bastard is still a little tender, and laterally weak. Ah well... plenty of time to recover before the Brissy stop, if I punish it this weekend. lol
We'll be sessioning Hyde Park on Thursday, if anyones in town.

Advanced:

1st Paul Chamberlain
2nd Eric Ethinger
3rd Michael Husser
4th Tomascz Hantke
5th Vinnie Pugh

Middies:

1st Buff (Andrew McDermott)
2nd Shaun Jarvis
3rd Andrew Lightbody
4th Jason Parker
5th Mitch
6th Mike B

Not sure where Todd and Campbell ended up but it's 4am and I'm drunk as an empty beverage. Did I forget anybody?

Thanks to the judges! Neil, Mike S and Ben Moran. You guys did a great job. The compulsories worked out really well and will be a permanent feature at the Sydney event.

Compulsories:

1st Shaun Jarvis
2nd Buff
3rd Andrew Lightbody
4th Jason Parker
5th Paul Chamberlain / Erice Ethinger
7th Mike B???
nth Todd - Proving that an old air force diesel dog can learn new tricks without provisionally boarding the two-wheeled monkey-jazz-time extravaganza express.

2 nods to the old school and 3 to the new. I'm going to bed.

If you've missed this comp then I feel sorry for you!

Shit! That's as far as the memory goes. Bed time anyway. It's been an epic weeked so far and we're going to smash Bondi tomorrow. EPIC EPOCH!!! Damn I can't remember all of the placings.

Anyway.

Peace out brotown!
