[u:24h65zg2][b:24h65zg2]Advanced rankings/scores explained:[/b:24h65zg2][/u:24h65zg2]
So an explanation of how the scores work and what went down on the day...
So as everybody knows the timed runs (2X2mins runs) feed into a final battle. In the advanced class there were four riders and these were the cumulative scores from the timed runs that were used to decide battle order - if there were more than 4 riders it would have decided who made the battle.
1st - Phillip Fruel (194pts)
2nd - Shaun Jarvis (148pts)
3rd - Karl Hughes (127pts)
4th - Masaki (117pts)
3 categories for judging (Difficulty; Consistency; Variety) each out of 20pts - max score of 60pts per run. 2 runs, max score of 120pts. 3 judges, max score of 360pts overall.
After this came the battles in which judges simply voted with hands for the best rider:
Masaki vs Karl - Masaki won
Masaki vs Shaun - Masaki won
Karl vs Shaun - Shaun won
Phillip vs Masaki - Masaki won
For the comp on the day these were the placings:
Masaki 1st
Phillip 2nd
Shaun 3rd
Karl 4th
[b:24h65zg2]Masaki won the comp.[/b:24h65zg2] However, rankings are different altogether. Your score from the runs plus bonus points from the battle gives you your overall score.
1st in the battle +40pts
2nd in the battle +20pts
3rd in the battle +10pts
4th in the battle +5pts
So overall in advanced
1st - Phillip Fruel (194+20=214pts)
2nd - Shaun Jarvis (148+10=158pts)
3rd - Masaki (117+40=157pts)
4th - Karl Hughes (127+5=132pts)
Masaki was a shocker until the battles but he came back and cleaned up in what was a very exciting contest! At first I was skeptical about the whole battle thing but the crowd liked it and it ended up being interesting as there was a major upset.

[size=150:2lw8zx2p]More info tomorrow about how the riders who missed Round 1 can grab themselves 120pts and get into the rankings with a fighting chance of finishing out on top overall. Word on the street is that Badman may have a few setbacks ahead of him and Brett Dighton may [b:2lw8zx2p][i:2lw8zx2p][u:2lw8zx2p]make it[/u:2lw8zx2p][/i:2lw8zx2p][/b:2lw8zx2p] afterall!!![/size:2lw8zx2p]
I'm tired. Goodnight people! Hey wait... There's nobody here. . .

Leigh Waddingham is now out of the rankings - sorry for spelling your name wrong man!
I think we all ride for fun. Different people take the contest more seriously than others I guess. Personally I don't like contests that much, I like everybody coming together and hanging out, so I guess I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to make that happen. If a contest isn't the way then so be it.
