Since I heard that this was going to happen, I made up my mind that I was going to ask people for a copy of the raw footage and edit together my own clip of the trip for myself. Anyways, recently that decision has grown into the idea of making my own little dvd of the whole thing, complete with interviews with people goin on the trip, interviews of the pros at the comp (if we can mannage to get one from them), clips of riding both at the competitions and on the road and just random clips of us being idiots (you can't say it wont happen)
First of all, anyone think this is an idea worth doing?
Secondly, if you DO reckon it's worth while, I don't actually have a video camera that's good enough quality to record footage for a dvd and was wondering if anyone else does? (prefferably one person from NZ and one of the Melbourne crew)
Finally, if everything else works out, I'm gonna need to know what everyone's plans are for the trip (like, a rough itinerary) are so even if you guys could just tell me that, that'd be awesome!

i say that's a darn good idea dude. i'm sure i'll be doing some filming in between riding. i'm happy to give them to you afterwards. i'm sure there'll be other people doing this as well.
i'd like to edit some videos but if what i do now with work carrries on i wont have much time for it. time for riding comes first for me as the time i do get for it has gotten a lot less. i might make a short one if i get some time but i can't make any guarantees.
wow this road trip idea certainly is sounding better more and more. i've asked a mate of mine that works for a travel agency to look around for me for prices of perhaps an RV or something that we can hire. still waiting to get back from her.

Thanks! Yeah, I reckon everyone'd end up doing a little filming (like, who ever's not riding can do the filming). Also I'll have a lot of time to do editing (not to mention I have access to a two or three screen editing computer with the latest Premiere Pro). Feel free to edit together a little clip of the footage; that can be like a preview of the dvd or somethin! I reckon it'd work out awesomely!!
But, like I said, I'll prolly needa know what everyone's planning to do for the trip (like, if people are just gonna not do the whole trip and just go to bmx games or... y'know, stuff like that)

Awesome man! Well, I can get dvds that can hold a ton of footage and I hate when people make dvds with 40 mins of film so... I reckon that we'll do at least a little interview with everyone that goes and each person that rides can even get their own section to go with it (sept for me and Tina [Image Can Not Be Found]).
Lookin forward to this!!

[quote="Arts216":3trt0mnc]What is this event that is happening anyway, & when is it?[/quote:3trt0mnc]
It's an idea of Junes to roadtrip (if I read his post correctly) down NZ to Xair then across to and up Australia to Sydney for bmx games (or somethin like that) and then back to our respective homes...

For you aussie dudes that want to help, best talk to Mitch as he's offered to look after the aussie side of things.
i'm just waiting on quotes for the things that we need (eg. vehicles) so i can give you a rough idea of our expenses.
i'm also in the process of contacting the xair guys to see what can be done at the event.
will let you know as soon as i have info.

just a quick update on things.
- i've just spoken to the organiser of X-Air yesterday and he confirmed that he's still keen as chips to get flatland in it. we will be starting to sort out stuff very soon. unfortunately he hit a bit of a snag at the moment with where it's going to be held. all i can say is that its a toss up between where it was last year (Wellington) and Auckland. i dont mind where but it might change the route of the road trip slightly.
- we will be moving into a new house this weekend and its got heaps of space. so if anyone is keen, i will be able to provide accomodation to some people.
that's all. i'll give you all an update once i hear back from the xair organiser, which is about 2 weeks.

We could even have a bit of a late house-warming party (if I DO go, I intend to be bringin a couple bottles of vodka anyways so [Image Can Not Be Found])

Ok guys, Im looking into a vehicle for the aussie leg of the trip because my mates mini bus fell through...assuming its still happening lol.
Im looking at getting a 12 seater assuming the interest is still the same.
For 10 days, it costs just over $1000 so if 12 people come, it will cost just under $100+fuel for everyone, we get unlimited km's for this too and its a new "Toyota Hi-ace" with cd player, air-con... all the shit...
There is 8 and 7 seaters too, the 7 seater is at $880 i think for the same thing, so yeh guys, get back to me if you can because if your anything like me, you will need to start saving for it now haha!
Any idea's???
