Don't print normal email addresses and mailto links in the rider database.

Any automatic web crawling screen scrapers will pick them up for SPAM listings. [Image Can Not Be Found]

Fine, if the site starts getting linked to from a lot of sites especially popular ones like pedalbmx then expect to see your SPAM increase. It's a fact.

Good Point.

I could do it two ways.
1 - Use scripts to stop web crawlers
or
2 - Put the directory in a password protected folder and have login details in plain view. That way bits cant access it. It is slightly annoying for us that way though.

Any better suggestions?

Another option is a form that allows you to email a person from the site rather than providing their email address. Of course it's open to abuse. To get around this you can have a system so that only logged in members get access to that form or contact details.

It's ok now. I have found a script that does the job. Last time I had a script for this kind of thing it would only work for one email address per page. Found one that suits me though.

Now it's just a matter of copy/paste

I wonder if we could get these forums rolling a bit faster if the link to the forums was made a little more prominent on the main page? [Image Can Not Be Found]
mightn't double the traffic but im sure it would catch more peoples attention who are just scanning thru the website quickly they might miss the fact there are these wonderful forums [Image Can Not Be Found]

It has crossed my mind, might switch MFZ and Forum links around. The site is still young, teething problems are sure to be.
