Job wise, car wise, rent wise, papers/plane ticket wise?

Any input is appreciated

My nominations would be Melbourne/ Victoria, South East South Australia or Tasmania.

Employment is pretty good in all those places, less than 6.5% unemployment. Mostly service/ manufacturing based employment. However the government is tight on who it lets stay, so you

actually it all depends on what your looking for...
if you want rain and inconsistent weather then go for Melbourne...
want sunshine then come to Brisbane...
1 hour drive north or south and your at some pretty good beaches...
strong rider scene...
depends on what your looking at doing for a job???
what type of car do you want???
yes Melbourne is a nice place, but the road surfaces are shit if your gonna ride from place to place...

Adelaide is similar to Brisbane but with a much smaller population...
Adelaide also lacks hills and a strong rider scene but has open roads...

don't know if id say Melbourne has a well planned grid system???
try driving there...

one thing is Melbourne has a good dinning scene and less fatties then other cities...

Word to what ali & Dighton said.

As an Adelaide person, I can honestly say the city is great: it's affordable, super easy to get around, friendly people & job wise I think it's ok (it's been a few years since I lived there!). However there is practically no flatland scene there though there are plenty of good riding spots.

Having said that though i'm going to be living in Brisbane soon for the above reasons Brett mentioned.

Fuel here is cheap too. As in less than half of anything in Europe, though I expect the U.S prolly has similar.

Melbourne definitely rules though. Actually I'll be honest, after being out of the country for the past 3.5years & seeing how the rest of the world is getting on with everything that's been happening, anywhere in Australia is cruisy.

The weather in Melbourne is not shitty.

Check the stats, it rains more in south east Qld than it does Melbourne.

As well as little humidity which is a killer, we have no sand storms and no cyclones

Plus we have daylight savings and twilight. In summer you can start riding at first light, around 4.30am and knock off after 9pm.

Look at a map of Melbourne and then Brisbane and you can see which is better to get around.

Job wise, you'd have to have your job here before moving here.

Car wise, second hand cars are dirt cheap now.

Rent is affordable the further you go from the cities, living in or close to the city is expensive.

Papers/green card? Not sure.

Plane tickets, well its a one off one way ticket, just shop around for the best deal.

Australia is a great country. Every city and state has pros n cons, so do your own research to avoid bias. The riding scene is good along the East coast cities and Perth.

honestly everyone to their own, i would prefer to live in SA i like peace and quiet and last time i went there to meet andy and kim filkie i loved it, adelaide did have a very strong scene back in the day but seeing how matty holmes is dedicated to 2020mag and the rest of the scene has just died off make's adelaide for flatland a no go zone, in my eye's this guy would love to be in any state aslong as he's in australia [Image Can Not Be Found]

every state has it's negatives and many would think that WA is off the radar but actually WA is looking really good especially the scene with andrew, shaun, jason and bielecki makes for a memorable stay, eric from canada just finished his tour of australia and spent 3 months in WA and he loved it.

best would be for you to give reasons why you want to come to australia and go from there, that way you can do a break down on what each state has to offer and choose what suits you best.

hope this helps..[Image Can Not Be Found]
