I believe flatland Australia has been killed by all of the people who've used it, abused it, left it be and then talked the shit out of maybe doing something - only to inevitably do nothing again and again. I'm guilty. So are all of you.
We've all let the forum die. We've all killed it.
At the moment I work 7 until 6 everyday apart from Sunday and I still ride - barely managing - everyday. That's why I'm not posting at the moment. Next week I may not have much work so I'll be here deleting spammers and probably not much else. . . That's an excuse - you've all got one I imagine. The time for excuses is over though.
Nobody here has any balls to make a move. I don't want to be the one who makes changes to the site right now but I'm going to go to TAFE and learn webdesign - one of the classes is how to build forums. That's the future though. Excuse.
I'd like to run the forum day to day and deal with the topics, management and children's arguments - but that's all I want to do. I want to have input into the changes of the site (front page etc.) but I don't want to implement them. That actually means that I don't have any balls - but I do have hands and they're both up. Nobody else seems either to have either balls or hands - which may technically make you all dicks.
Ali said that he has another forum ready to go. I personally don't know that he's gone to the effort but I honestly hope that he has.
I want to give the forum to Ali. It's the only possibility that's not exhausted. I know that we agreed that that was not a good idea but I've changed my mind. I believe it's the best decision.

As far as I'm aware I haven't actually done anything to the forum apart from delete spammers. I agree though - they are the life of the party here!
Give the forum to Ali. See if he does anything with it. I think he will. That's all I've got.

I wholeheartedly agree that it is rather bleak, but yes... I wish I had the enthusiasm, time, and...yep, the disposable cash I had a few years back. Some of the best times I had in my life were meeting the usual suspects that spy and populate the forum.. cherrybrook meets, bmxgames meets, it goes on.
The fact is I don't have any of these elements in abundant amounts anymore. I don't hide the fact I have alot of excuses when it comes to 'flatland' in general.
It's the 'wave' of new youth... I just don't see that anymore.

The fact that Death has a facebook page and namedrops internet addresses in his pics.. what a try hard. Death sounds like a really smart dude... I reckon he had a myspace page too.

I thought that this thread was interesting but sort of wrong at the same time...

Where is the next generation??? I don't even read the forums of global as it's died in the arse too... But globals news is still good though...

I can really only ride maybe 4 times a week, an hour a sesh if that's lucky... Progress is insanely slow.
Seriously though.. Who is this death guy? I've got no idea how bookface works but he has PTE 'singers' like Avril Leveigne OR WHATEVER the flavour is! still around as friends. She's the biggest sellout I've ever seen.

Death is Dave - obviously. Nobody else is smart enough and dry enough to pull it off. Apart from Ali of course - but honestly - He probably lacks the effort.

The forum has been slowly dwindling for a few years...
The older gen is slowly disapearing and the new gen???
Well they don't come here if there is any... Not to post anyways...
As I'm not a social networker this was my only source of flat info in aust...
I think death is coming to flat in aust not just the forums...

That may be so Brett but it's connected. If the forum was improved and we all put effort into it then so many kids would make it past the initial difficult flatland hurdles and we could encourage them to stick with it. There is probably plenty of interest in flatland but most kids will be in the skatepark after a month or so when they don't see progress.
This forum is great in that it has a lot of members who know a lot about flatland. If we all work together we'll attract the new generation. The new generation is already here but they don't know it yet.
