I found some pictures of my bikes over the years [Image Can Not Be Found]

My first ever BMX bike, the 1996 "Repco Quicksilver", or as the saleperson told me a "DiamondBack Quicksilver" I jumped over 8 neighbourhood kids on this bike off a 1 foot high skate ramp when I was 12, shame mobile phones and YouTube were not around back then or I would have taken photos!

Snapped the handlebars jumping off a curb when and got no warranty because the break was not at the weld, so I got myself a pair of Haro Kneesavers. A local kid from the bmx track told me you could get a gyro fitted for $52 and when I got my first set of pegs a freestyler was born

When I moved to Sydney in 1997 I was introduced to some flatland riders through my cousin who rides Vert and MTB over there, my Quicksilver then morphed into this: A 1988 Haro Master/Redline/Odyssey/Dyno thingy I got parts from other riders and local stores: Haro Master frame, Dyno bars and stem, Oddyssey Bermuda tyres (I used to run Haro Multisuface aswel), Redline seat, ACS BOA big bolt front brake, rear Dia-Compe 990s, some kind of rims, possibly KHE seat post....it was my first flatland bike which was great when I put it together but it slowly fell to pieces [Image Can Not Be Found]

Moved back to Perth in 1998 and rode street/park/flat but did not know any flatland riders, got a blue Hoffman SD-4 for Christmas in 1999 but it got stolen less then 12 months later if I remember correctly I got no photos of that bike but I have a VCR floating around of me riding flatland on it, in the process of building that bike again [Image Can Not Be Found]

*INSERT PIC HERE SOON*

Next bike was another Hoffman SD-4, I bought this when I started working in a bike shop at 16yrs and I was buying everthing at wholesale price. I must have bought this SD-4 for about 300 bucks less then what my parents paid for my first one but for some reason the SD-4 now had a brake plate and a different seat in 2001, I much prefer the 990 mounts and I must have snapped three bolts to get the brake plate to a tension where it would not work itself loose again.

Well hey if you work in a bike shop you may aswell right?? 2001 GT TOUR2 I believe, picked this thing up wholesale again and built it myself. This bike was an absolute tank! I could not even bunny hop up curbs when I first bought it, but it was not long before I was pulling 3 foot airs out of a 5/6 foot halfpipe. I rode some flatland on this bike, it was solid as and with the GT Airbags you could pump these puppies up to 90 or 110psi if I remember correctly. It was the sort of bike that you would snap your wrist on landing on a flat surface.

Ahhhh...........life is full of choices, which one should I take to the skate park today? [Image Can Not Be Found] (I still had the Master and a Merida trails style MTB at the time, nothing like working in a bike shop)

Awesome. Great photos. Maybe you can convert the video and post or take some photos from the TV LOL

What are the forks on the 1988 Haro Master? Are they hoffman?
You were doing all right to score kneesavers in 1996 - they were hard to come by in Aus during that time.
Do you still have all the bikes/parts?

Haha, yeah this day and age I am sure I could convert to video but once I get some NOS rims and an SD-4 sticker kit from a guy in the USA I can ride again for real [Image Can Not Be Found] I got a complete George and a blue SD-4 frame, the chrome rims are flaking but I could not find any Hoffman Holy Rollers so I got Alex 7Xs which are the same as the George. Once I build it with new bearings etc it will be OG except for the pegs and rims.

The forks are a good question, I am not sure what they were. You can probably see that you can run the pegs on the forks, but it was hard to do spinning tricks because the peg is not at the centre of the wheel. I did have the Haro Kneesavers on the Master before I swapped to the Dyno ones, I am sure they were about $50 from the local store. My mum nearly killed me when she saw how bruised my quads were from doing seated half barspins before I had a gyro (I did not know you could cut bars down), we both agreed that Kneesavers were the best option

I still have the Quicksilver frame but I am not sure where the kneesavers went, shame I did not keep the bars that I broke for show. The bike shop who fitted my gyro must have thrown them in the bin. There was maybe 9-12 months between my first SD-4 and my second one (we had no house insurance), and by the time that happened I was working 9-5.30pm at 16yrs old and sometimes even Saturdays and finding time to ride was difficult. I put a freecoaster on the SD-4 for flatland but then I could no longer use it for street/park riding and that is why I got the GT.

I sold the SD-4 real cheap, there was just no one else riding flatland over here in Perth that I knew of and by that time I had my drivers licensce and riding was fading away. The second SD-4 just was not the same, it had different parts and never rode like the blue one I had. Can't remember what happened to the GT, I think I sold that too along with my MTB. The Haro Master I actually left at a car park by accident and when I returned it was gone [Image Can Not Be Found]

I also gave parts away to a friend who needed a bike, at that age I never thought about keeping these bikes because they might have value or would be rare in 10 years or so, I just sent got rid of them to someone who might give it more use then what I was at the time. I do have random frames and forks in the shed, I actually have a Master/Peregrine style frame that is cool. I am going to pull everything out and clean it up to see what I want to keep and probably sell the rest on OZBmx
