I just put a hole in a 2 month old pair of etnies [Image Can Not Be Found] I've been buying etnies for years now and I'm only only my 3rd pair in like 6-7 years, I know Simon o'brian uses them so I think they gotta be alright. Anyone have any idea of what Etines would last me longer than 2 months?lol

Sounds like you've had some good life out of your shoes, try branching out though. I get whatever is cheapest/available/reasonable quality and see how it goes. Got a pair of Nikes on sale and they are really great and feel pretty tough. Any shoe can be found cheap if you hunt around.

This isn't great reasoning buddy. A pro just 'using' a product is no reason to pass judgement on it, unless you've asked them what they think about it.

And the fledgling nails it. Lots of companies are hit or miss, some models are good, some are shit.
Lotek used to be awesome, but have turned to shit in the last few years, changed the sole design.
Nike are usually good quality, you just have to swerve the fluoro flipwhipper look. I got some cheap with Sean and I just coloured mine black with a paintpen. Definitely on the expensive side though unless you can get them on sale. I don't know what model Sean and I have though. Think its 6.0?
Dc Tactics are a really good shoe. I ride an awful lot and they're pushing 18 months. I ride everwhere on my bmx, and I use them for my brakes. I can only ride with a really solid sole, and these are great. Good grip too.
Go for something aimed at bmx, not a skateboarding shoe. Skate shoes have softer rubber which will wear out quicked and hurt your feet. BMX shoes should have a more solid rubber.
Fuck vulc soles.
