Apparently it was off topic to talk about medical treatments in a topic about sickness and medical treatments, so I'm posting here instead. But on the brighter side of things the time and effort everyone put into the previous discussion was completely wasted.
Anyway let's just hope that we can have an intelligent discussion here about the treatment issues that have been brought up, and then admin can delete this discussion as well.
- 1st point: Chase has been diagnosed by a naturopath with a parasite and fungal infection contrary to what the doctors have said.
- 2nd point: Chase has been treated by the naturopath for the parasite and fungal infection.
- 3rd point: The treatment hasn't worked.
Summary of possibilities: (A) The treatment isn't strong enough (possible problem with 'supplements' that the naturopath has prescribed). (B) the diagnosis was incorrect - likely considering the doctors are disagreeing with the diagnosis-.
- What is Needed: Details on the treatments chase has been given so the treatments can be reviewed. Details on symptoms so other possible diagnosis can be explored. Details on things that have been ruled out. For example the issue with the botched nasal surgery. Did the surgery involve a Turbinectomy? If so has empty nose syndrome been ruled out? Etc... Details on the mold and an examination of the empirical evidence surrounding this possible cause of the problem.
Anyway this is probably all just a waste of time considering it was made abundantly clear from the previous thread that opinions and advice are not the sort of help wanted, they just want money.

Absolute nonsense. I merely requested that the Thread not be negative - ie. stating something or someone is SHIT is negative and causes issues. I find it odd for someone that has studied methodology for four years to open a statement with such an unprofessional and negative comment:
"Don't people realize that naturopaths are completely full of shit?".

1) Totally unfounded, not credible, or ridiculous...usually refers to something somebody just said. (Urban dictionary).
So saying something is unfounded, not credible, or ridiculous is not allowed? Or is swearing just not allowed? This site says flatlandaustralia, I don't know one australian person who would get offended at hearing the word 'shit'.
What I find amazing is that you can't get past your own hangups with hearing negative criticism for naturopaths, in order to try and help Chase.
As for writing on an internet forum like you would in a medical journal... are you serious mate? It's an internet forum! An internet forum! Not a medical journal. There is a difference between a medical journal and an internet forum.
And please note that journal articles have negativity in them. Science constantly criticizes past research and findings in order to find better information. The default position of science is the null hypothesis (i.e. that the theory is wrong).
If you want to have a cry about me writing the word 'shit' then fine, I can understand that on some level, and if it offends you so much I'll stop using the word 'shit'. But your argument that critical evaluation of treatments based on a scientific approach such as that done in journals cannot be negative, is just ridiculous.

Please re-read my response properly. I had a problem with your APPROACH not the exact word "shit".
I also explained 'negativity' but you still insist on not reading.
Keep up the nonsense and I'm sure this thread will also be closed which helps no one.

Tim, I agree with everything you are saying.
However and take it from me, intelligent argument and reasoned thought have zero place on these forums.
Sure there are people who can and do think in such a way here but shortsightedness and blind, pig-headed stupidity (the kind seen in the dark ages) will always win out.
